Oil expressed from Sesamum indicum consists of glycerides of oleic, linoleic, palmitic, stearic and myristic acids.



Coconut oil contains free caprylic acid, in addition to glyceride of lauric, myristic, palmitic and stearic acids. Coconut oil is an ingredient in the preparation of curries. It is also used in the manufacture of cosmetics, vegetable margarine and other medicinal preparations, especially in hair oils to promote the growth of hair.
